Matthew Butler

Before joining AFIN Family Wealth Management, Matt worked as a financial advisor for Edward Jones.  Moreover, he has experience working with families and business owners and takes special pride in giving his clients the comfort of knowing that a personalized strategy has been developed for their financial future.  He was drawn to AFIN’s emphasis on financial planning, and its philosophy of always putting the client’s needs first. 

Matt is originally from Morris, IL, a small town about 60 miles southwest of Chicago.  He graduated from Western Illinois University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and went on to receive a master’s degree in educational psychology from Valparaiso University before starting his original career as a school psychologist. He has previously worked as a psychologist in the suburbs and the Chicago Public Schools.  Although Matt enjoyed helping kids and families better their lives, he decided to make a career change into financial advising. Currently, Matt resides in Chicago, and in his spare time, he enjoys training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and staying up to date with the business/financial world.
